In 2014, the Organic Orchestra company’s residency continues in the the Atelier Arts Sciences research framework by taking on a new form.
This year’s objective is to enhance the interactive glove which was created for ERZA’s concert, and to adapt it for industrialization.
In collaboration with the IDEAs Lab and ENSCI, the Atelier Arts Sciences enters a new phase of reflections concerning new features and functions of this interactive glove.
Bionic Orchestra 2.0 is a musical, visual and interactive project, blending beatbox and new technologies.
From Monday 20 through Thursday 23 January 2014, Ezra and his team were in residency at the Atelier Arts Sciences in a workshop with students at ENSCI, working on the adaptation of the interactive glove to stage.

The beatboxer Ezra’s new show is the fruition of his residency at Atelier Arts Sciences and tells his own story of the passionate relationship between humans and machines. Ezra, through simple hand gestures, controls the electronic enhancement of his voice, of sound and light travelling in space using an interactive glove designed and tailor-made in collaboration with the Organic Orchestra Co. and the Atelier Arts Sciences. Through an "augmented" beatbox, as both an organic and technological performance, Ezra investigates the question of what we are in this technologically transformed environment. Conference on the interactive glove, demonstrated by Ezra, on 19 September 2014 Ezra and his team presented their interactive glove at a conference, as a part of their Atelier Arts Sciences residency, on Friday 19 September at Hexagone Scène Nationale Arts Sciences - Meylan. The team worked on the Hexagone stage for one week and they presented the first phase of the project.
- 04 et 05 oct 2013 : Rencontres-i, Biennale Arts Sciences / Maison de la musique de Meylan • 07 octobre 2014 - ONYX - Saint Herblain (44)RESEARCH PROJECT
In his show within the framework of the Arts Sciences Biennale 2013, at the Maison de la Musique on 4 and 5 October, Ezra performs solo on stage, accompanied by his team of developers. His non-verbal performance yields space to play on meanings, to new research on gesture control and motion sensitivity.
The research residency is continued in 2014, investigating the multiple possibilities behind this interactive glove and technological invention, in various sectors, such as health, domotics, gaming, industrial and collaborative digital devices...
Ezra is investigating the multiple possibilities behind this technological invention, in various sectors, such as health, domotics, gaming, industrial and collaborative digital devices... He gives a concrete form to his research through visual and sound panels.

Ezra, artistic director of the Organic Orchestra Company, is an active and recognized member of the international beatbox. He has performed all over the world and played solo in the most mythical places in France (Olympia, Cigale, Transmusicales...). Ezra develops his discipline with the ability to adapt and a stage ease that has led him to collaborate with world-renowned artists (Kid Koala, Bauchklang, Wax Tailor, One Self, Socalled...) and to go on a world tour with the singer Camille. Ezra has initiated and participated in multiple creations mixing music, video, dance and scenography such as the projects Bionic Orchestra, Five Fingers, or with the Fabrique Immatérielle and the Compagnie Hey!
In addition to the stage, he devotes as much energy to the development of his discipline by conducting workshops in schools, prisons, hospitals, conservatories as well as participating in university research and in the establishment of the network of beatboxers in France since 2005, which organizes great federative moments (such as the French championship). For 4 years now, Ezra has been working with the engineers of the Organic Orchestra Company on the principle of augmented beatbox, developing tools that transcend the voice and allow the control of sound, light and video from the stage.
