Thinkrotron, an interactive experiment

The Atelier Arts Sciences, the CCSTI la Casemate and the ESRF Synchrotron have invited Laurent Mulot, graphic artist for a residency on the territories of the Scientific Peninsula and the Chorrier-Berriat district in Grenoble.

Artist : Laurent Mulot
Associated researchers : ESRF Synchrotron

The aim of the residency is to carry out an investigation through photography, video and audio recording on the territory of Synchrotron localized on the Scientific Peninsula as well as with inhabitants of the Chorier-Berriat district.

The question to be answered is our relationship with memories, precisely with digital memory, as well as the district’s inhabitants’ (scientist or not) relationship with this one-of-a-kind research cluster.

The project aims at setting in motion some poetry in the Synchrotron’s memory bank and visualising on stage our relationship with research and scientists.
They have also planned to set up a concrete, physical idea sharing network, as well as a virtual network through the internet and other messaging devices throughout the city and the region, to enquire about the relationship between science and arts.
The residency will conclude at the end of 2012 and will lead afterwards to an interactive exhibition in 2013. This exhibition will be unveiled at the Rencontres-i Arts Sciences Biennale 2013.

He also brought his collaboration to the event called "La nuit des particules" (Particles Night) at the Grenoble University Campus in 2011, in collaboration with the CCSTI.
